The only Duryodhana Temple in the entire South India.
Poruvazhi Peruviruthi Malanada Temple (Kollam Dist. Kerala) is considered to be the only Duryodhana Temple in the entire South India. The Temple has no idol but only a platform. The Temple also has Karna, Dushala, Shakuni, Drona and Bheeshma as deities. The interesting story about the temple is, Duryodhana was served food and water when he was found tired by the tribes Kuruvas here during his pursuit of Pandavas after they escaped from wax palace. As a custom, the priest of the Temple is from Kurva community. Malanad is located 14 km away from Sasthamkotta, Kollam Dist.
